Ewa Warmińska-Friberg | Poland

Attorney-at-law and manager with many years of experience in public administration and advisory for the benefit of healthcare actors. She specialises in financing of healthcare services, including reimbursement of medicines and medical devices. Currently, she is a member of the management board of Technomed. Ewa co-authored the commentary on the Act on the Reimbursement of Medicines, Foodstuffs Intended for Particular Nutritional Uses and Medical Devices, as well as numerous practical commentaries on health care. She gained experience while working at the National Health Fund, the Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tariff System (AOTMiT) and the Ministry of Health, where she held the position of Deputy Director at the Department of Drug Policy and Pharmacy and was responsible in particular for creating the drug policy in Poland, legislation, and reimbursement. Additionally, she was a member of the Tariff Council and represented Poland in various committees and working groups at the EU level. top

Björn Wettermark | Sweden

Björn Wettermark, M.Sc.Pharm, PhD is professor of pharmacoepidemiology at Uppsala university, Sweden and visiting professor at Vilnius university, Lithuania. His research focus mainly on drug utilization as a tool in health policy including prescribing quality indicators, international comparisons of drug utilization, evaluation of prescribing doctors´ adherence to guidelines and patient adherence to treatment as well as intervention studies to promote rational use of drugs. He has previously had various managerial positions in the health region of Stockholm as well as other commitments including membership in national and regional strategic groups on medicine management, scientific advisor to the Swedish Medical Products Agency as well as past chair of the European Drug Utilization Research group, the European chapter of the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology. top

Wojtek Wiercioch | Canada

Research methodologist at the McMaster GRADE Centre in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact (McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada). He specializes in evidence synthesis, guideline development methodology, and the guideline development process. As a member of the GRADE (Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation) Working Group, his focus is on application and training on the GRADE approach for systematic reviews and guidelines. His main research activities include systematic reviews and the development of clinical practice guidelines in collaboration with various medical specialty societies, healthcare organizations, and ministries of health. He completed his graduate training in the Health Research Methodology program at McMaster University. top

Agnieszka Wiśniewska | Poland

She has over 20 years of experience working in international corporations and companies providing services to medical device manufacturers and distributors. She has specialised in advisory on the financing health technologies for many years and she also conducts trainings on this topic. Currently Agnieszka Wiśniewska acts as the President of the Management Board of OPPM Technomed, where she supports companies in their day-to-day development on the Polish market. She is an active actor involved in system-wide changes in healthcare, including primarily ones related to medical devices issued per order or shaping the guaranteed benefits basket. top
